To close out 2011, I have decided to do a four-part year end extravaganza. Here is the breakdown of what is coming up later in the week:
-2011 in Retrospect: A look back on everything the year has held, the journey I have begun by joining the Air Force, how I have grown as a person, and which pictures I posted that I feel are the funniest. I will also highlight various posts that stood out to me, which can give me some direction for this blog in the future.
-Anticipating 2012: A look ahead at what I am going to accomplish in the next year and what I hope to accomplish in the next year. When the time comes around to do another set of year end posts this will be a good way to judge if I’m staying on track or not.
-The Overarching Plan: This post is going to be a metaphorical journey (ah, metaphor, my old friend) through my life, beginning at birth and ending at old age. It is going to be all of my far-future prospects and ambitions, as well as a few good metaphors (there he is again!) to describe how it feels to be the great Crate. In theory if I continue to do this every year, the overarching plan will adapt and grow with my life, and slowly become more and more embedded in reality.
-The Farewell Post: This one is going to be unique to this year, although I may do a final farewell post for every year. Who knows? For now this one is going to be my final thoughts before I leave for basic training for the Air Force.
These will be posted daily beginning on Wednesday, the 28th. The Farewell Post, which will be posted on the 31st, is going to be my last post until I return from basic training. That will be early to mid March. 2011 has been a big year; I have a feeling 2012 is going to be even bigger.
